Herdsman w. responsiblility for 400 cows + 350 heifers in Germany

We are therefore looking for a herdsman who will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the one property, which currently has a herd consisting of 400 cows + 350 heifers.

Tasks will be within:

• Estrus control and insemination
• Hoof trimming
• Veterinarian and medication registration, as well as checking up on the animals' well-being
• Registration and transport of the animals between the two properties
• Responsible for ensuring that the milk quality is in order and working to improve the yield
• Training of new employees

We are looking for you as:

• Enjoy working independently, as well as working within a steep learning curve
• A skilled or unskilled farmer, but most importantly you have practical experience in milk production
• Is ambitious and passionate about working with results and wants to make a difference
• Is easy to learn and careful
• Want to improve your skills in milk production
• Willing to work with management

We offer:

• Responsibility for 400 cows + 350 heifers on one property - and with good opportunities to also be responsible for the operation of the other property with 1400 cows in the long term.

About the company:

You will be part of a rapidly growing German company consisting of several properties distributed in Sachen-Anhalt and Brandenburg, just 1 hour's drive into Wolfsburg, which is a larger city. The owner lives a little away from the properties, but is no more than a phone call away, and regularly visits the farms.

We have several different nationalities, so it is of course also important to us that you can embrace different cultures and have an interest in them. The main language on the properties is English, but do you also speak other languages, such as German, it will definitely be an advantage. You will mainly work on one property, but with good opportunities to also be responsible for the operation of the other property, in the long term.

The one property that you will be responsible for has a herd of 400 cows + 350 heifers (no calves). The animals run free and the milking parlor (from 2020) is a 2x12 swingover. The team consists of 3 employees.

The other property (which is 15 km. away) has a herd of 1400 cows + calves. Here milking takes place in a 2x20 fixed exit milking parlour. There are a total of 13 helpers on the farm, where the staff office + apartment is also located.
